Parking

Parking near NICU can be difficult. If possible, we recommend that you use either the free hospital bus service or other public transport.

If you do choose to drive, there are two small 'Pay and Display' car parks in front of the hospital. In addition, there is off street parking nearby where you can park for up to two hours. There is also a car park on Horfield Road (turn left at the bottom of St Michael's Hill). If you can find a space, you can stay for 4 hours for £2 which is for longer and is cheaper than on-road parking.

Parents visiting the Unit are entitled to a Visitors' Pass. You will need to get an authorisation form from a senior member of staff on the unit and take it to the main reception on level C. Charges are £2 per day for the first week and £2 per week thereafter. This applies only to the ‘Pay and Display’ car parks on the hospital grounds.

Please beware of overstaying your time on meters on the road. It is a tow-away area and large penalties are given if you do overstay.

Do not leave any valuables in your car as break-ins are common.

It is easier to find spaces in the hospital pay and display car park before 9:00 in the morning.
